What we think

Like other Christians the Bible is our first point of reference, but for guidance on its interpretation and application we consult Quaker Faith and Practice and, in particular, its first chapter, "Advices & Queries."

A Quaker tenet is that God is in everyone. That requires us not only to abstain from violence in any circumstances but also to deal with the causes of violence such as need or injustice.

We also believe that God is in everything. That requires us to protect the environment: "We do not own the world, and its riches are not ours to dispose of at will. Show a loving consideration for all creatures, and seek to maintain the beauty and variety of the world." (para 42 "Advices & Queries").
